I went to an ophthalmologist for my routine eye checkup. Had only one complaint of dry eyes floaters. I was wearing specs before and they said I am wearing 0.5 more minus power for compound astigmatism for both spherical and cylinder. And they insisted not to change specs and continue sem. Now they gave CMC eye drop 1% tid . Earlier I was not experiencing headache but now I'm experiencing headache in the sem specs. Is this normal or something to be concerned about. thank you maam/sir

As a Neuroophthalmologist I can say that headache can have multiple causes
.
Lets start with the most basic one that is glasses checked , and dry eyes.
.
If done, need sound sleep and reduce stress.
.
Can be due to migraine if any aggravating factor.
.
Can be due to dehydration or acid reflux.
.
If all the things are ruled out, need to get evaluation done by a Neuro Ophthalmologist.
.
Thank you

Headache is the first symptom to experience when your sight is not appropriate.Second thing to consider is sleeplessness and stress. If you don’t have any problems with your stress levels and sleep pattern then you should definitely consider changing spectacles to the correct power. That will help you to feel better
