Excessive Hair Fall
Having excessive hair fall. i am a mother of 1 year old baby. when i was pregnant i was not having a single hair fall. but post pregnancy its falling like anything. plz help.

There are many reasons for hair fall. So first and foremost we have to find the cause with the help of detailed history and examination. Some of the common causes are nutritional deficiency, hormonal causes like androgenic alopecia or patterned baldness, hypothyroidism, telogen effluvium etc. Unless we find and treat the cause there is no point in giving non specific treatment. Oils or shampoos do not have any effect on hair growth as they are not absorbed in the skin. Greetings,There are many reasons for hair fall. So we do have to find the exact cause with the help of detailed history and examination. Some of the causes are nutritional deficiency, hormonal causes like androgenic alopecia /patterned baldness, telogen effluvium etc. But from per your explanation I may feel you may going through Postpartum hair loss which is normal and temporary.Many new mothers experience between 3-6 months after give births..Most women will return to their usual hair growth cycle between 6 and 12 months after birth.
