How can I know externally that the parts of my tm joint (disk, ligaments) are not damaged i.e. I don't need any surgery and I will be cured totally after my treatment for tmj disorder?

Your doctor can palpate the TMJ from outside and get some information about the joint. The decision for surgery cannot be taken by just checking from outside
