Any issues in my TM joint? CT scan
I have been dealing with lower jaw pain under ear and side of neck. No injuries prior to that. It's like burning and sore pain in the jaw under ear and neck. Been to multiple doctors and dentists. They said it's Myofascial pain dysfunction. I do have muscle tightness and stiffness.  I have 2 lump like spots in jaw under ear and neck. The lump in neck is pea like size and hard. It's the same from June'20 till now. No change in size. My physician ordered neck ultrasound and CT scan with contrast to check those.  My dentist tried various treatment. Extracted upper wisdom tooth and rct on lower molar(was suspecting root fracture in it and that could be reason) and nothing helped so far. Pain is constant and in the same spot. My dentist told me to check about Eagles Syndrome. He said it's a rare condition and wanted me to check with ent or OMFS. Taken neck CT scan to check those lumps. Normal results. Attached picture of Tmj area from the scan. Does it show any abnormalities in tmj?

While your TMJ does show slight bony changes at the joint it won't be possible to diagnose anything further from just the scan and no clinical examination. Your dentist is right in suggesting you visit a specialist. Ideally a TMJ/ joint specialist is the right choice for you. You have also not mentioned what treatment you have undergone for the Joint pain. Any muscular therapy, use of a night guard or occlusal splint and low frequency biomodulation for the pain. These are the normal treatment options for joint issues alongside muscle relaxants. Have any of the above been tried?
