My mom has been diagnised with the anterior disc displacement of TM joint as suggested by the MRI report..
Have been advised to take Prolozone therapy by a maxillofacial specialist
Another specialist had advised surgery and will place a silicon disc between the joints...
pls advise which procedure is effective,proven and less costly

Anterior disc displacement for a prolonged term after medication requires due consideration. Considering her age physiotherapy like ultrasound therapy definetly helps. Medicine treatment and rehabilitation is the first line treatment. Surgery should be last resort.

Hello, it is very difficult to give a final treatment plan without checking the patient as well as all the reports and symptoms. But just to let you know treatment is with analgesics, jaw rest, muscle relaxation, physical therapy, and bite splinting. If these methods fail, surgery may be necessary.
