Does Contrast ct scan of chest detect esophageal cancer?? And chest x ray as well can detect esophageal cancer??

Usually , you will get comments about your oesophageal status on the Chest CT scan , and even if there is some lesion involving your neck part of esophagus then also it will be commented . Contrast is of different types , some times oral contrast may not be given in Chest CT , so can lead to missing of lesions in digestive tract . So any CT scan should be done after getting a doctor’s opinion, based on your symptoms or complaints. X ray , as such is difficult , but combining x ray with contrast study , like barium swallow will help you reach a diagnosis , and are widely used .
