Epilepsy and family planning
I have had a history of juvenile myoclonic epilepsy. I used to have minor jerks/spasms when i was 11/12yrs old, primarily when sleep deprived in the morning. Post usage of Valparin it was under control for 15yrs, except one seizure incident last year which was caused after stress and sleep deprivation. My parents or relatives dont have anything related. I would like to know if Valparin can be continued during pregnancy and what are the other alternatives. Also, what would be the chances of a safe pregnancy and healthy child.

Levetiracetam is good drug for JME you can consider discussing with your Neurologist regarding switching over to it from Valparin which has high congenital malformation incidence
