Hi, I am 29 years old and have been suffering from bad dental hygiene. Even though I take good care of my gums and teeth. I want to inquire, as an adult is it possible for me to get braces at this age and will they have any effect? I have overlapping teeth and a gap (which has caused a lisp) will braces help resolve the same for me at this age?

Yes we do braces for adults also these days commonly. But it is important to evaluate your periodontal condition ( gum condition) before finalising a treatment plan.
The answer to your first question is yes. You can successfully undergo orthodontic (braces) treatment as an adult. Please visit an Orthodontist who will guide you appropriately.
