I had unprotected intercourse on October 13th and took an emergency contraceptive pill within two to three hours after. My last period started on October 2nd and lasted 5 days, my cycles are usually around 25 to 28 days. It's been a few days with no symptoms. I wanted to check if this sounds normal, and if there's anything I should be watching for or doing right now."
Taking the pill within two to three hours of intercourse is about as fast and effective as emergency contraception gets. Having no symptoms right now doesn't mean anything went wrong, many women get none at all. Your next period may arrive a few days earlier or later than usual, or feel different in flow. None of that alone means the pill failed.
Next Steps
Watch your cycle this month and take a home pregnancy test if your period is more than seven days late. Keep track of the date so you know when to test.
Health Tips
