Ear piercing infection - medicines
I have swelling and inflammation after ear piercing (7 days old) and a doctor has prescribed the attached medicines. I forgot to mention that I got a tattoo done 10 days back. Is it still safe to take these medicines

Hi! Swelling after ear piercing is common and the prescribed medicines are safe to continue. 😊 Your recent tattoo will not interfere with these treatments. Feel free to consult if symptoms worsen or for reassurance on the dosage. 👍

Yes, it is safe to take the prescribed medicines for your ear piercing infection even with a recent tattoo. Antibiotics and anti-inflammatory tablets prescribed for infection do not interfere with tattoo healing. Both the ear piercing and tattoo are open wounds, so keeping both clean and dry is important while you are on the medicines.
Next Steps
Take the medicines as prescribed, keep the ear clean with saline solution, and avoid touching or rotating the earring with unwashed hands. If swelling increases or pus develops, visit the doctor again. Feel free to consult me directly on Practo for a detailed evaluation.
