I pulled out some skin around a nail a while ago and that's got worse now the skin is dry n hard and irritating

Trauma or damage to the nail itself can cause peeling. Soaking your hands in hot water while doing the dishes or engaging in any other prolonged water exposure can dry out the nails. This can also cause peeling. Inherent dry skin or seasonal changes leading to dry skin is one of the major causes for peeling of skin. Harsh weather conditions like dry summers and extreme winters result in damage to the exposed surface. It can b treated and maintained. Consult a Dermatologist with relevant pictures.
