Double marker test
Hello Dr. Could you please advise what is the nessacity of double marker test? What is the ideal time to take this test? Is this recommended for all pergenent women? Also please advise what will be impact of this test is not taken? Thanks for your help Sam Dennis

Double marker test is done to calculate the risk of chromosomal abnormalities in the fetus..its a probability test..it is advisable by doctors all over the world.. However it is not necessary to undertake this..you can also directly go for a triple or quadruple test later... Most patients dont want to take any chance and hence do both these tests thus increasing the sensitivity and specifity of both..
