Venous Doppler of legs is done to check the blood flow in the legs and to rule out any deep vein thrombosis.  If it has been recommended to you now,  then get it done Your doctor may recommend Doppler prior to surgery after assessing clinically and also based on added risks. If any thrombosis us found then it will be treated accordingly
