Usually No. It is because rabies viruses travel from bite area or area of contact to brain then from brain to salivary gland, after which only the animal can spread the disease to other persons or animals. Once the viruses reach the brain, the animal will start to get rabies signs and dies with in 10days (after the viruses reach the brain). That is the main reason we always have 10 days observation period in rabies suspected animal. So if the animal lives more than 10 days, which indicates 10 days before the animal had no virus in the brain, so automatically no virus in saliva.
