Do I require jaw surgery?
Attaching some pictures of my side profile and "normal" bite.
My dentist has told me that I have Class III malocclusion. Can it be fixed by orthodontics itself or do I have to do surgery?
Also, what are risks of surgery in India? I can find almost no testimonials of people who have done this procedure in India.

As I can see you have a class III malocclusion and forwarded lower jaw. There are many good facilities in India, that do orthognathic surgery for skeletal malocclusion. Which means in your case, making lower jaw go backward and a better aesthetic look. It all depends on you, of you are satisfied with your orthodontic treatment or not. If satisfied no need for orthognathic surgery.

As far as I can understand from the pictures your bite can be corrected by fixed orthodontic treatment.
However to confirm it we will have to get few xrays of your teeth and face.

At age 23 , even the late growth of lower jaw( mandible ) usually stops. So if this your current bite and you don’t want major charges in your face - surgery can be avoided . Never the less we need to go for a proper check up with some X-rays to confirm the treatment plan . But as an Orthodontist we can correct your bite with out surgery also . But if you want drastic scanted in your jaw line then treatment may be little more aggressive . Visit an Orthodontist near you . Go for a digital scan with itero scanner with them .. Ull be able to see end results of your bite even before you start your treatment . It’s a software which helps you to see your end result.

Hi. We need to clinically check to decide whether your case is a surgical case. You need to get an x-ray - lateral ceph done to Exactly tell you. Based on the pics it is looking like a mild class 3 case. You need orthodontist help
