My father had toothache and swelling which after taking a medicine is recovered but he still has an issue of a smelling liquid discharge in the mouth.
What should be done to get it recovered?

Smell might be due to localised collection of pus. As you have already mentioned about taking medication toothache n swelling might have temporarily subsided .But the root cause of infection needs to be ruled out .
You can continue the medication for 7 days
Rx
Tab Augmentin 625mg. BD
Tab Metrogyl 400mg TDS
Tab Diclomol SOS (given in case of pain)
Taking medication is not the permanent solution and it seems there is pus forming , the tooth may require removal or RCT(root canal treatment) for that particular tooth
Next Steps
See your dentist as proper clinical and radiographical examination will give a proper treatment plan
Its basically pus discharge which now needIf full course of antibiotics is taken then it's ok. Make sure metronidazole or ornidazole group of medicine is consumed.
