Differin disaster
My acne recently got much worse since I had to stop birth control. I am currently using Clindamycin 1% gel and just started using Differin last Saturday. My acne is now worse than it has ever been, even when I was a teenager (I'm 34). I contacted my dermatologist's office and they said it was normal for acne to worsen for 2-3 weeks, but it is not just acne, I also have red scaly patches. It is so bad I don't want to go out in public and I don't know what to do.

differin probably contains adaferin. You have probably applied increased quantity of the creamwhich has caused in redness and irritation of the skin which has also resulted in scaling. Without examination of the skin condition and knowing the extent of involvement.. along with this more information on ongoing medication or history of previous/current skin/systemic illness it is not possible to comment on the treatment that would suit you best.
