My son is 2.5 months old and is suffering from diarrhoea for the past 5 days. Paediatrician recommended Darlac probiotic powder initially but there was no improvement and the second time he recommended sporlac powder and walamycin 12.5 mg suspension drops. Is it really required to use this antibiotic and probiotic for a 2.5 month child. Baby is completely breastfed. Stool examination came out to be normal with few erithrocytes present.

An exclusively breastfed baby will not get a stomach infection. More details are required about the "diarrhea" you mention. In all probability, it is normal. I would be cautious to advise antibiotics in such a case. Please consult directly for further clarification.
