Diabetic since 2015 type 2
Been on medication glycomet 500 till 2019 and then changed to metsmall 500 Been having it twice a day. Hba1c has been between 6.2 to 6.7. Lately, have been experiencing low blood sugar essentially once wake up in the morning...levels are around 66 to 74. Experiencing dizziness, weakness in hands and feet. I am fine after having a cup of tea, levels go up to 90 to 100. Now Metsmall 500 reduced to once a day after lunch.

Hi. Your sugar levels are going low. Accurate dose modifications are needed. Get BSL done in fasting and pp, and Hba1c test. On the basis of that report, your doses have to be adjusted. Till then, continue single dose as you are doing presently. Low sugars are life threatening, so don't take it lightly. Regards.

Glycomet 500 and metsmall 500 are different brand names for same medicine I.e. METFORMIN. Dizziness weakness could be due to hypoglycemia. Normally metformin do not cause hypoglycemia except in rare cases. After stopping night dose of metformin you should check fasting sugar after a week or 2. There is slight chance that fasting may rise again and may require to start small dose again. Keep an eye on it
