Diabetes type 2
Hello, I was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. In the diagnosis my hba1c was 12.9. After 15 days when I checked hba1c again it was 11.1. There were no ketones found in my urine. Urine sugar is +++ and Albumin in urine is ++. Later i purchased a glucometer and kept on checking sugar levels. Presently on an average I have been getting my fasting glucose level at around 140 and after 2 hours of meals it is around 270. No one in my whole family tree is diabetic. I walk daily for around 30 mins. My question is I have never experienced a single symptom of diabetes till now. I don't feel more thirsty, I don't urinate much (I don't wake up at night for urination), my wounds heal very soon (i recently had an injury, which healed quickly), but I still have been getting continuous high blood sugar levels. Should I be worried. Kindly guide.

You have diabetes. It's important to note that around 90% of people with diabetes may not experience any noticeable symptoms. However, managing diabetes effectively requires a combination of medication and lifestyle adjustments. Failure to treat and control diabetes can result in complications later in life, affecting organs such as the kidneys, eyes, and heart etc
Next Steps
Consult a doctor and start the medication

Yes you should be worried . It sMODY (maturity onset Diabetes of Young) which is seen at later stage accidentally discovered. It’s asymptomatic so that’s why you did not feel any symptoms. Now regularly check your sugar and understand how food is affecting your sugar level. Stop sugar and carbs in diet . Take high protein and low fat. Walk for 45 mts briskly. Take diabetes medicine regularly
