Diabetes patient. Sugar level 33.
Hi, My father is a Diabetic and has recently had a finger in his foot amputated. Dressing of the foot is done everyday. Yesterday his sugar suddenly dropped to 33. I have him chocolate, glucon D and candies but it did not go past 65 yesterday night. He woke up again at 35, then I gave him some glocon D and chocolate and it was up to 70. We obviously discontinued the sugar medicine. Ever since, his sugar is fluctuating between 40-90. He is not eating anything. I just give him chocolate and glucon D when his sugar goes down. How can I bring his sugar back to normal? He is not eating anything. He is on the following medication : Glimisave M1 Forte (not giving at the moment) Complamina Retard Chymoral Forte Augmintin 625 Kindly help.

Glimisave can have a lasting effect on sugar, sometimes the hypoglycaemia can persist for upto 24 hours or more especially if his creatinine levels are high.
Next Steps
creatinine levels. might need hospitalisation and intravenous glucose if hypoglycaemia is persistent.
