Because of her diabetes, my mom has nerve damage to her feet -- what kind of footwear does she need to avoid problems?

She will need a well fitting and well cushioned footwear that would cover the feet well. The footwear should not be tight and should have enough space to accommodate the toes comfortably. The whole idea is to make sure that she does not develop any skin damage on the feet which can then lead to infection.
