Hi Thanks for seeking help here. Plz read this Griffonia Seed Extract or 5-HTP is a grayish white crystalline powder that is extracted from the seeds of the Griffonia simplicifolia plant, a legume native to Africa. It has a myriad of uses including the following: Helps calm or stabilize mood.* Helps suppress appetite.* Helps the brain regulate serotonin.* 5-HTP or 5-Hydroxytryptophan, also known as oxitriptan is a naturally occurring amino acid and metabolic intermediate in the biosynthesis of the neurotransmitters serotonin and melatonin. It is a direct extract of griffonia seed. Some studies have shown that 5-HTP is an effective supplement for many things, at the top of the list is the ability to aid in the suppression of appetite, which may help with weight loss. 5-HTP helps with this by increasing the amount of serotonin in the brain. 5-HTP is one of the building blocks for the neurotransmitter serotonin. It has been shown to have the ability to increase the amount of serotonin in the brain and gastrointestinal tract where it asserts its ability to influence a person's appetite and eating patterns.* Griffonia Seed Extract (5-HTP) has also been known to help keep a person from getting irritable, angry or even displaying aggressive behavior. This also is a direct result of its ability to directly manipulate serotonin levels. 5-HTP can also help regulate a person's sleep patterns. This also is due to its ability to affect different parts of the brain that are associated with a sleep wake cycle. Further, a number of serotonin receptors connected to the human brain have been discovered leading to the conclusion that 5-HTP receptors may also be involved in different stages of sleep.*
