In depression there is increased irritability that is low threshold for getting irritated which can be perceived as hypersensitive to sound but this symptoms has to co exist with low mood. If you don’t feel low in mood yet you feel hypersensitive to sound then problems with hearing needs to be tested to r/o problem with ears. Overthinking could be indecisiveness, low confidence etc which can be part of depression or may exsist without it as part of someone‘S personality. Causes of depression Could be physical illness, chronic pain, chronic diseases, stressful life events like loss of loved one, broken relationships/ marriage, any problems with hormones, genetic etc Traumatic experience in any stages of life like sexual abuse, parental loss, emotional neglect Anxious, avoidant, obsessive, impulsive personalities are more prone for anxiety and depressive disorder Alcohol , misuse of drugs are some causes
