Depression and mental breakdown
I am now a software engineer. Done my B. Tech. I am having habits of counting important things like money, checking adhar, debit card, i-cards which I used to carry everyday lot of times in a day. If I lock a door, I used to check it 5-10 times, Even if I shut down the office computer after work, again in road I used to think have I signed out it or not and again I used to call my office mates 2-3 times. In this way I am fully puzzled. This started happening from my class 10 day's. This habits are now increasing day by day. Though I know those are bad habits still I think if I lost those, I missed something. So, how can I get relief from this depression???Now I am married nearly 4 years ago. In my company 3 years left, after then my project will be expired. So, I am very much depressed also regarding this what will after then, if I don't get any new job, Now I am started thinking to take baby, but in between those so much question are raising in my head. please suggest how I get relief

Here are some things to do every day: Exercise - This is the best way to conquer depression. It’s hard to “think your way out of depression.” But if you engage your body, you will feel better. Meditate - There are so many forms of meditation and some of them are really easy. The benefits of meditation are endless too. Here’s an introduction to meditation I wrote. Learn to breathe deeply - Make a routine of breathing deeply into your belly. This relaxes both the body and mind. I do this whenever I start to feel anxious, fearful, depressed or really any negative emotions. Get out in nature - Nature just makes you feel at peace Walk outside Express yourself creatively - Write, draw, paint, dance, sing, design…etc. Whatever medium you prefer. Creative expression helps with moving any stuck or negative energy. Help someone else - Make someone’s day, give someone a compliment…etc. This takes the focus off of yourself. Plus, helping people feels good. Focus on gratitude - FEEL gratitude in your heart for everything in your life. Even if the only thing you can think of is being alive, that’s more than enough to feel gratitude. Hope those helped :)

Hi, what you’re going through seems like obsessive compulsive disorder. Excessive thoughts (obsessions) that lead to repetitive behaviours (compulsions). Obsessive-compulsive disorder is characterised by unreasonable thoughts and fears (obsessions) that lead to compulsive behaviours. Which I turn leads to depression and anxiety in a person and should definitely be checked by/ diagnosed by a clinical psychologist first.
Next Steps
Once it has been diagnosed, it’s important that due treatment is given as suggest by a psychologist- therapy or medications for which you’ll have to see a psychiatrist.
Health Tips
It’s not something that’s new or something to be worried about as long as you see someone for it and move towards fixing it. See a psychologist at the earliest. All the best!
