Depression and insomnia
My mother is unable to sleep and dealing with insomnia and depression for a year. But now it had incresed a lot she is unable to sleep which caused too much anger so i gave her valium 10 mg for sleeping it had helped in sleep but in the morning she faced severe weakness and now she started laughing like no reason cannot control her laughter from morning to night for no reason and also face hullicination...please advise..

Seems to me more than depression... Consult with a psychiatrist asap

Feeling low, having crying spells, sleep and appetite disturbances, and difficulty in concentration and attention are some of the signs of Depression. Consult a Psychiatrist for a detailed assessment. It is likely with medication and counselings the symptoms will improve. If she is feeling suicidal or hopeless consult a Psychiatrist immediately.
