I am experienced severe pain in my second molar
when I eat or drink something hot or cold .
It also has pits ..can it be a dental cavity 😭..I am really fearful about the procedure ..will it involve dental drilling ?

No not always drilling is done.excavation can be done only that is sufficient.i suggest you to please share the clinical pic for confirmation of the involved lesion

As you don't have continuous pain or pain at night it can be treated by a filling but the final treatment procedure will only occur once the x-ray is done as it will tell the extent of caries and line of treatment.
As your fear for drill is concern see any procedure as such won't cause any pain to you.
