Delayed Periods by 1 month
My sister’s last period started on 17th August, and her periods have been delayed quite significantly this time. She is not sexually active, and this is the first time she has experienced such a long delay, as her cycles have usually been regular. I’m a little worried about her health. Could you please advise me on what we should do and whether we should consult a gynaecologist?

An eight-week delay in your period, especially when your cycles are usually regular and you're not sexually active, is unusual and worth checking. Common causes at your age include stress, a change in weight or exercise routine, thyroid imbalance, or an early sign of PCOS.
Next Steps
Book a gynaecologist visit for a pelvic ultrasound and blood tests, including thyroid levels and a hormone profile, to find out what's causing the delay.
Health Tips
If you also notice excess hair growth, acne, or a significant weight change alongside the delay, mention that to your doctor too.
