As most doctors suggested De-addiction is multidisciplinary approach for the better result. Integrative Approach can be seeked. I suggest meet Dr Rajesh B Iyer on www.poornaneuro.com to connect to the Integrative Team
First talk with your spouse about the deaddiction... and his willingness then you have to undergo some behavioural therapy..
Long term process
Counseling is needed
Consult a psychiatrist
Deaddiction will not be easy. And much more complex process that can be tackled in a online consultation. There are medicines that can be given depending on your spouse wants to leave addiction or he doesn't want. Plus it will require multiple follow up and cbt. There will be withdrawl symptoms once he leaves alcohol and that needs to be tackled too..
Next Steps
kindly visit a deaddiction center or a psychiatrist who will help you through the process.
De-addiction is a complex and long road to complete.
The first step is being cognizant of the problem..
Would be great if you and your husband can make an appointment to discuss this further.
