Can your d dimer result get affected if you are taking blood thinners?
Father's d dimer came out to be 1800. Doctor prescribed blood thinner. Next day we re tested to be sure, it came out to be 150. After 1 week again, its 160. During this time he took bloody hinners.
Can we stop blood thinner? Does blood thinner affect d dimer values so that it comes low? Or the first test (1800) may be false?

It can lower d dimer levels if raised due to any condition. Raised d dimer indicates abnormal blood clotting activity. Do not stop blood thinners by yourself, it can be dangerous.
