Hi dr,my kid is of 9 years old,he is having fever and cough since 3-4 days cyclic pattern of fever is seen .... fever is getting reduced in afternoon but its getting high grade at night time also cough is their i hv given him ibugesic syrup and ambroxol syrup ....
Today mid night runny nose is also seen of my child
Kindly help thank u ...
This sounds most likely like an acute viral respiratory infection, especially with cough and now runny nose. Fever can fluctuate and become higher at night, so that pattern alone is not concerning.
Next Steps
since the fever has already been present for 3–4 days, I would advise a pediatric examination rather than continuing medicines blindly
Hello. From the history, fever with cough and now runny nose for 3–4 days is most commonly due to a *viral respiratory infection.* Fever becoming higher at night or coming down in the afternoon does not by itself indicate a specific disease.
Next Steps
However, since the fever is high-grade and has persisted for 3–4 days, I would recommend examining the child once.
Health Tips

Greetings
cyclic fever peaking at night with a cough usually indicates a viral infection.
You can continue giving Ibugesic syrup for fever control and comfort as prescribed.
Ensure your child drinks plenty of fluids to stay hydrated throughout the illness.
Avoid adding more over-the-counter syrups without first consulting a pediatrician
