Cut because of Glass between fingers
My mother got a cut between his thumb and index finger by a piece of glass which was broken from a glass mug. The injury is deep such that white colour bone was visible from the cut. The incident happened last night so we cleaned the would , applied turmeric powder on it and covered it by a bandage. The pain is not as such .  So what should we do now , will it be cured if we maintain care by applying betadine and bandage or it requires Tetanus Injection . Do help us ASAP

Hi ! It would be helpful to take a look at her wound to asses the depth and length of it. Before that you may want to stop applying turmeric to the wound and get in touch with a doctor who can prescribe you antibiotics for the infection that may develop. Just try to keep the wound clean and dry and covered with sterile cotton.
Next Steps
get in touch for a picture and round of antibiotics

Hello dear I have a few doubts. A deep cut uptil the bone bleeds profusely and gives immense pain as well, and it can't be managed with bandage alone. Since you are saying that you are managing well with bandage, it is probably a superficial cut. A picture would have been helpful. Now coming on to tetanus injection you shoukd ideally get a dose if you have not received one in last 5 years and it is to be taken within 48 hours of injury.
Next Steps
Consult back with a picture if wound or go to a hospital emergency

Hi, ideally a doctor needs to inspect the cut to advise further treatment. But since this is not possible now, I would just tell you the protocols that we follow.  Usually a wound by a sharp object like a knife or a glass piece is clean and with sharp margins. Unless the object itself was dirty with other contaminants, a thorough wash with sterile water and immediate suturing of the wound would be advisable with additional medicines like pain killers and/or anti-biotics. Leaving it open for too long might invite infection or may lead to healing with painful scars and contractures. So I would advise you to consult a doctor or a surgeon particularly, for a proper assessment of the wound as soon as possible. Hope this helps.
