Crowning without RC ?
Have an implant at Upper Right 6. Due to slight shifting of implant and an ill fitting implant crown, decay occurred between inter dental space of 5 and 6. Necessary filling though done was not stable as it was in inter dental space and badly made implant crown did not allow proper bonding. Now filling has cracked. Been advised capping of 5 as repeat filling will not hold due to above. Implant though is ok except for not so accurate crown. 5 except for this filling is perfectly healthy, normal and I have no pain, sensitivity etc in this tooth. My question is - is an RC necessary before capping ? If required at any point later, can it be done with cap fixed ? Thanks

RCT not mandatory. It is not advisable to do with cap fixed because cap will be damaged in that case.

In your case gap between 5 and 6 is more therefore food deposited in between them. Now capping is better solution because in filling no base for wider filling. But flossing  gave helps to maintaining oral hygiene. No rct required for capping, but metal crown is better solution because in this capping, cutting of cap is minimal required. Buccal facing ceramic is the best options for cap in aesthetic conditions.
