It depends on the cause of rise in creatinine and extend of kidney damage. For example, if creatinine is raised due to reversible factors such as infection, dehydration in a person with normally functioning kidneys, it may come back to normal once the cause is treated. But if there is irreversible damage to the kidneys, it is less likely to return to normal
