In Type 1 diabetes pancreas produce very little insulin , if any. That's why insulin injections are required for blood sugar control. Read everything about Type 1 diabetes here but.ly/3g9CUT4

Hello.. U must understood few things here..  Type 1 diabetes is state of absolute insulin deficiency so giving mixtard doesn't make sense here, she should be given basal bolus regimen to exactly mimic physiology of body insulin levels.. Doing c peptide at this stage doesn't make sense.. Usually c peptide denotes body is able to produce insulin secretion.. Surprisingly here results are good..in initial stages of diabetes c peptide may come quite okay but later on it becomes negligible.. U also must get her GAD 65 antibody levels if not done previously..... She also need to get eye examination, some blood test to look for complications also Plz consult endocrinologist for same... U can do it online nowadays

Dear Sir Thank you for the question. I am not sure why you or someone else told you to get a c peptide test. In your daughters case she was normal 5 years back after which her pancreas stopped producing enough insulin and hence she is a type 1 diabetic. The c peptide values you have done just done show that she has some insulin producing cells left but clearly not enough and hence she needs insulin. She should get regular annual diabetes care with both examination, blood tests, foot and eye care
