Cough,cold& congested nose for6monthbaby
Hi doc , My 6 month old daughter is suffering from cold , cough and congested nose . Her cough is bad that she has reduced taking solids at all and she cries after coughing (So I guess it is painful for her ) .Her nose is also blocked that now and then I can hear her breathe through the blockage and she wakes up crying unable to breathe . I have gone to a peadiatrician and he has given medicines but still there is no improvement .it's almost 4 days and the only improvement is that her sneezing cold has now become cold with cough . Is there any home remedies that I can follow to help her with the blocked nose and painful throat ? Like can show a little bit of the smell of eucalyptus oil ? Something like that ? And for her throat wat else can I do ? And also pls tel me if we can use nasal aspirator?. Please help this helpless mother ... Thanks in advance

First of all, relax! This is part of growing up in kids. OK,stop all medicines, just give steam inhalations 5-6 times a day,use decongestant nasal drops for nasal block, and paracetamol for fever,if required. She'll be fine in 2-3 days. Local applications like vicks or eucalyptus oil give temporary relief only.
