Cough at night
My son is now 6.9yrs old. From the past 3-4 months he had frequent cold and cough as well as snoring. Consulted doc prescribed budecort inhaler for 1 months , as well as metatop nasal spray for 6 weeks (adenoids grade2). Completed the budecort inhaler , doc suggested to stop . But now even if he eat ice cream , he gets a cough at night otherwise no cough he plays well . Is this asthma ?? What can I do now . Cough gets better when I give him cough syrup.

Not typical asthma. More likely adenoids with airway sensitivity/post-nasal drip. Avoid cold foods, give warm fluids/steam. You can use OTC cetirizine (age-appropriate dose) for a few days and honey at night for cough relief. If symptoms persist or increase, pediatrician may restart nasal steroid spray or evaluate for asthma—inhalers only after doctor advice.
