Hi my doctor has prescribed corex dx for my 2.5 month baby, earlier when he was 2months old was not taking feed properly he must have cough so gave corex 1ml 3 times a day, which was a relief, now again in 15 days baby is having this problem, gave him corex for now, will take him to doc in evening, is it safe, how can build immunity for baby? my baby is formula feed baby,He gets sick every now and then, and will medication (chemicals) at this young age will harm him?,if he has even little bit of cold and cough, I fear for pneumonia, is pneumonia asymptomatic in babies, how can u check if any such thing occurs?

Frequent cough and cold in infants can be due to wrong feeding practices as well as respiratory or other systemic diseases... kindly connect for further evaluation so that he can be examined adequately...for now ,you should avoid cough suppressants and watch out for danger signs like fast breathing,fever , nasal flaring ...don't panic ,be visilant and take care .
