Its a good social service if cord blood banking is done. Not at all useful for individual or private cord blood banking
Mostly being pushed by cord blood banking agencies
Simple example
If a kid who has a disease which can be treated by cord blood, then they can't be treated by their own cord blood as it will already have the disease
Cord blood of another baby/person who will be perfectly matched is required.
Only rare example where it can help is if there are twins and one of them develops a disease which can be treated by cord blood.
