Hello doctor, From past 8days I have cough and I went to hospital thricee still cough is not cured. I have a cat in my home and does that affecting my healh,Cat is having heavy danding, Kindly guide me what precautions I have to take.

Hello there.  I can understand your concern.  Yes you might be allergic to animal dander and in your case the source is CAT. Kindly get it checked out by a pulmonologist in person for further evaluation and management.  Also, stay away from allergens like your cat as much as possible. Best regards. Dr. Anil kumar jain. Dry Cough lasting for more than a week can be due to pharyngitis. Antibiotic needs to be taken. If associated with wheeze, bronchodilator is needed. If an allergen like animal dander is seen as triggering the cough, then it has to be avoided.
