Iron supplementation may cause the black stools. Some adjustment time is required. Start 1 meal a day from 6-7 months age, 2 from 7-8, 3 from 8-9 etc. Continue with on demand milk (breast or formula, whichever regularly consuming). Avoid packaged foods. For any queries, book an online consultation with me. I am a lactation consultant, IYCF (Infant and Young Child Feeding) nutrition expert with an interest in Childhood Infections and Vaccinations. Take care!
