Congenital hypothyroidism
Hi doctor! My son, 59 days old today was diagnosed with CH on 55th day. He is taking thyronorm 62.5mcg from 56th day of life. His thyroid values are as follows: Cord(9/5/24) : 0.78 ng/dl Ft4 and 22.345 uIu/mL Day 4(12/5/24) : 1.72 ng/dl Ft4 and 21.970 uIu/mL Day 5(13/5/24) : 18.90 mlu/L Day 50(27/6/24) : 1.09 ng/dl Ft4 and 21.1  uIu/mL Please tell me if he will have low iq Or development delays since treatment started only at 56th day of his life. PFA t99m thyroid scan report. I'm very worried. Please help me.

As thyroxine is started ,no worries , just continue tablet and take follow up investigations.As it is started in early, the neurodevelopment will be normal . Not to worry .

If he is consistent and compliant with the medication. There is going to be no issues. We are giving thyronorm to ensure that his development is normal.
