Greetings Please stop inserting your finger or any objects into the infant's anus immediately, as this "push method" carries severe medical risks. Digital or manual rectal stimulation can cause severe internal mucosal injuries, tears, dangerous infections, bleeding, and long-term rectal complications. The redness and crying mentioned are warning indicators of acute irritation or trauma to the baby's delicate tissue. An infant not passing stool for 7 days while displaying clear discomfort, severe straining, and painful crying requires a professional pediatric evaluation to rule out underlying organic or anatomical conditions. Do not attempt to give over-the-counter laxatives, suppositories, or home remedies to a 3-month-old without explicit guidance from a doctor.

At 3 months, it can be normal for some babies, especially breastfed babies, to pass stool after several days. If the stool is soft when passed, it is usually not constipation. Baby may cry/strain because he is still learning coordination for passing stool. Please avoid putting finger or repeatedly stimulating the anus, as it can cause injury/bleeding. You can try gentle tummy massage and bicycle movements of legs. If stool is hard, abdomen is swollen, baby has vomiting, blood in stool, poor feeding, or this problem keeps happening every 7 days, please get the baby examined by a pediatrician before giving any medicine.
