Cold and vomiting
Hi, My 2 month old baby has caught cold. A rough sound is coming from his chest. Also, he has been vomiting for around a month now since even when he didnt have cold. His vomits are plain milk and sonetimes cuddled milk. He is on breastmilk and formula feed in parallel. He pees over 8-9 times a day and does potty every alternate day. Please suggest what should be done in order to prevent his cold from increasing. Also, what should be done for vomiting? What extra care should be taken during winters for my baby?

A 2 month-old child having noisy respiration and you feel his sound is coming from chest.this could be a nasal block and puting nasoclear nasal drops 10 times a day before every feed would help .But this sound has persisted for one month and has not affected your child's feeding behaviour so please relax it does not look anything serious .Baby is managing his urine and stool well so the milk intake is appropriate.if you think you need extra top milk then please use a bowl and spoon that's much more hygienic than a bottle. Then if he is vomiting after feeding is it after coughing or is it otherwise.vomitings are also due to overfeeding. If you have a family history of skin or respiratory allergy like allergy in you or your parents or on baby's dad or his parents then this sound from chest needs to be evaluated.
Next Steps
give child steam and see if this sound decreases. try placing the child in different positions and see if this sound decreases in any specific position.
Health Tips
allergy to formula milk can present as vomiting a and breathing issues. in winters prevent sudden temperature for child. keeps hands and feet warm as well as body warm in winter ers help the baby gain weight as otherwise they loose lot of calories to keep themselves warm for vomiting try putting the child to sleep in head end position at least at 30 degree angle from horizon by placing pillow below the child head and extending to his back.

1, stop top feed. Only mother's milk is sufficient till six months of age. If baby is passing 6 times urine a day then he is getting adequate milk. 2, use saline nasal spray several times a day. 3, don't use heater and blowers. 4, consult your pediatrician if cough persists.
