Cold and cough
Hello Doc, My 4 months old baby having cold and cough. Doctor prescribed zerotus and naxtra. I forgot to ask how many days should I give these medicines. I gave for 3 days and stopped. Cold and cough reduced. But still he is having some coughing and little cold. Want to know how many days should I give these medicines to him. Kindly reply.

Dear parent 4 month is a tender age and prone for pneumonia and sepsis Always seek advice from paediatrician Give nasal saline drops as well along with above medicine Give medicine for 7 days If baby is not having good sleep, having difficulty in feeding then immediately seek opinion of paediatrician Avoid bottle feeding and giving water in this cold rainy season

You can continue medicines for upto 7 days. If baby is not improving then better visit the pediatrician again. Saline nasal drops can help reduce the cold.
