clonazepam is a benzodiazepine and can can cause memory impairment. It acts on benzo receptor in the mind on a longer run. It can cause cognitive impairment like memory, disturbances, change in personality, irritability, mood, changes and personality changes. That is the reason need not be taken or rather, should not be taken for a longer duration of time. ideally if the symptoms are due to anxiety or depression, you need to take a course of SSRIs. Consult an attitude psychiatrist immediately. Good luck.
