Teeth cleaning is a procedure done to remove the tartar ( plaque and calculus) deposition from the surface of the teeth. Teeth cleaning (Scaling) is advised every 6 months to maintain oral hygiene and keep the gums heathy and firm. Tooth cavities/ decay require other treatment, ie, restoration (filling) or root canal treatment. Depending on the extent of spread of cavity (which will require a x-ray) the teeth can be restored only by filling or might have to undergo root canal treatment followed by crown placement.

Cleaning or scaling won't remove carious part. It will simply remove calculus or plaque deposit on tooth. For decayed tooth, treatment will depend upon the extent of cavity, if it is not deep then fillings are sufficient, if they are deep then root canal treatment is required. Still have queries then consult with doctor online or offline for better guidance and treatment options.

Hello, It seems like you are concerned about your oral health which is really good. Cleaning is a process which removes the dental plaque which gets deposited on the tooth surface. To maintain oral health it is important to clean it every 6 months but cleaning does not remove the dental cavities, both are different. For dental caries, there are so many restorative materials available these days which can be easily filled. Cost depends on city , materials and dentist.

Hi... Cleaning of teeth will not remove caries, cleaning only removes external stains, plaque and calculus. To get your decayed tooth treated you need to get an x-ray done first depending upon the extent of caries a decision of only filling or an RCT required can be made. The cost of cleaning varies from clinics to clinics mostly in good cities it will range from 1500-3500 but it can be even lower or higher than this.
Next Steps
Consult a dentist online/offline for more information.
