Cifran 500 mg
My father has been advised cifran 500 mg for 10 days twice daily as he is suffering from urine infection along with prostrate problem. He has been experiencing faint stomach ache everytime he has it..what to do kindly advise .. I read over the net stomach ache is one of the side effects of cifran 500. What can be done as he feels discomfort while sleeping due to stomach ache.

I don't know whether Cifran was prescribed based on experience of the Doctor or it was based on urine culture and sensitivity.
You may ask your doctor to change the antibiotics if he can.
Minimal stomach ache will be there with 99% antibiotics. You can only work according to fancies of the Doctor but your father may not get much relief.

It can be gastritis caused by the antibiotic. You can take a antacid like pan 40 before food once a day
