Scaling can remove one of the causative factors for halitosis but there can be other potential causes as well which can be evaluated only after a proper clinical evaluation and a detailed case history. This causes could be oral as well as extraoral.
Tell the case evaluation is complete you can follow some simple conservative steps.
Maintain adequate hydration, clean your tongue daily using your toothbrush and not a tongue cleaner.

Halitosis may not only be due to Oral hygiene. If you have just done scaling and your dentist has ruled out oral hygiene issues then you need to check other things. Upset stomach, acidity issues and ENT problem like sinusitis can also cause bad breath.
