Chronic Gastritis
I have had occasional gastritis and low grade fever with nausea, sticky and smelly stool for 3 years. PPIs don't help. Ultrasound sound and stool test normal. Slightly raised ESR and CRP with Haemoglobin 11.4. I did H Pylori test after having prolonged PPI and it came negative (PPIs might have effected the result) doctor said no need to do endoscopy and prescribed HP kit for 14 days. Currently it is going on. Can H Pylori cause chronic gastritis without ulcer? Even if i eat PPI, i get severe burping, stabbing pain in stomach and irregular bowel. Please advise, is taking HP kit making sense? Can it cure erosive gastritis?

H pylori is very well known and common cause of gastritis and gastric ulcers but generally don't cause fever. As your symptoms are not severe your primary care physician must said no to endoscopy because it won't alter the treatment. You can complete the course and can get further evaluated in case of partial or no relief. Sticky and smelly stools should be evaluated as they can be because of colitis or poor digestion.
